How to determine the size of clothes and shoes for dogs

Many pets require clothing, not only warm clothing, but also clothing to protect them from the sun.
There are currently a huge number of different products for animals on the market, in which you can get lost if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
Let's figure out how to determine the clothing size specifically for your dog.
Who needs clothes?
Let's start with the fact that depending on the breed, there are different needs for dogs.
For example, long-haired collies need to be protected from rain with waterproof overalls, and hairless breeds can get sunburned, so they also need summer clothing.
As for shoes, they are needed by almost all dogs living in urban areas, since roads are sprinkled with reagents in winter. Chemicals after licking paws can get into the pet's stomach.
How to determine the size
The size of a dog is determined in three steps:
- measure the length from the withers to the tail;
- Measure the circumference at the widest part of the chest and do not forget to add +2 centimeters for ease of fit;
- Measure the circumference of your neck at its widest point and also add 2 centimeters.
Shoe size is determined in the same way as for humans: you need to trace the dog's paw on a piece of paper and measure it.
