Pony Rapunzel Rescued in Moscow Region After Tick Bite

Moscow Region veterinarians have cured the pony Rapunzel after a tick bite. The Moscow Agency reports details, citing the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

It is noted that the pony's owner noticed negative changes in her pet's behavior, including loss of appetite and lethargy. She soon sought help from veterinarians.

According to the press service, the animal was examined at the Krasnoarmeyskaya district veterinary clinic. As a result of the examination, specialists identified piroplasmosis.

They also noted that veterinarians began infusion therapy. They administered an antidote and prescribed the necessary medications. Without treatment, the animal could have died.

It is added that to prevent this disease, it is important to regularly treat animals for parasites.
