Top 5 Small Dogs with Easy and Playful Character: A Memo for a Future Breeder

A small domestic dog is a real joy in the house.

It is clear that this is a typical indoor pet, he is more of a companion than a protector, but many dog owners are satisfied with this.

Such animals are often purchased by families with children so that they don’t have to worry about the child’s psyche and safety.

Large dogs definitely need to be trained, and this should be done by a professional dog trainer.

But with a small one, everything is simple: it is enough to simply teach a few tricks and make him remember his name and commands like “no”, “go for a walk” or “go home”.

What breeds of small dogs are considered the most playful and cheerful?

Corgi

It can be said that this is a unique breed: its representatives will take root in any conditions.

The pet will feel comfortable in a city apartment, a country house, an aviary, and in its own yard. But you definitely need to spend a lot of time with a corgi, especially walking. These are very energetic dogs, so they need to let off steam somehow.

A banal five-minute walk is not enough: you will have to come up with all sorts of games, run and jump with your pet. However, you won’t have to force the dog: it will most likely wake up its owner and invite him to go for a walk.

By nature, the corgi is kind, calm, cheerful, and is essentially a full member of the family. She loves children and will get along with other pets, if there are any.

Papillon

A real companion for a child: active, energetic, cheerful, loves to run both outdoors and indoors. Representatives of this breed have high intelligence, they are inquisitive. This is especially true for puppies: they need to be watched especially carefully.

The dog is a great companion and is perfect for equally noisy and active people.

For introverts, it is too noisy and demanding of attention, although in most cases this concerns only the psychological aspect. Papillons are unpretentious in care, they have good health and good life prospects (they can live 15 years).

Yorkshire Terrier

Probably one of the famous breeds of small dogs: loud, playful, but at the same time proud and independent.

You won't be bored with such a pet: he loves to bark, has a choleric temperament, first rushes into a fight, and then studies the potential "enemy". Therefore, Yorkies need to be trained from an early age.

If you do it right, they will frolic only during a walk, get along easily with other animals, and stop being afraid of loud sounds. The only thing is that you can't leave a Yorkie alone for the whole day. The dog will be sad and bored.

Pomeranian Spitz

An incredibly cute pet with a fox-like face and expressive eyes will immediately capture the attention of anyone.

However, the angelic appearance is deceptive: the Pomeranian is very obstinate, loves to dominate and be naughty. The owner must immediately set priorities so that the dog obeys him and does not play around.

Then it will be an ideal companion: playful, funny, with a loud, ringing and recognizable bark. It is desirable that the owners already have experience in communicating with dogs: then they will be able to raise a Pomeranian.

Sheltie

This is a small shepherd dog that is known for its gentleness and somewhat domestic character.

The dog will be a great nanny for children and at the same time their friend. She is non-conflict, calm, loves to play, but in moderation.

The Sheltie is completely devoid of aggression, it is easy to train, quickly remembers commands, obeys its owners. It is very artistic, which is why it can perform in the circus.

Earlier we wrote about why a dog doesn’t obey.
