Curtains framing a window and divided into two halves will no longer surprise anyone.

Therefore, asymmetrical compositions, where the canvas is placed only on one side, are becoming increasingly popular.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI on issues of interior design and interior design, will tell you what the pros and cons of such a design solution are.

Pros and Cons of Asymmetrical Curtains

Firstly, asymmetry transforms the space beyond recognition. If you want to refresh the interior with minimal costs, asymmetrical curtains will help.

Secondly, this is an ideal option for the kitchen, where a refrigerator or any other large appliance can be installed on one side of the window. Therefore, paired curtains will not fit in here.

Thirdly, this solution is universal. If desired, you can curtain both the right and left sides of the window, and also hide imperfections of walls or windows.

However, asymmetrical curtains also have their disadvantages. For example, if the room is located on the sunny side, then the curtains will have to be combined with blinds. In addition, there is no point in accents if the kitchen is already overloaded with details.

In all other cases, an asymmetrical curtain can visually correct the room. That is, being fixed under the ceiling, it stretches the space, and on a wide curtain it visually pushes the walls of the room apart.
