Country-style potatoes are one of the most delicious ways to cook potatoes.

However, if you don’t know a couple of tricks, the dish won’t work at home.

To prepare country-style potatoes, you should take those varieties that boil best. They are distinguished by light skin and almost white flesh.

For this dish, use oblong-shaped potatoes: they are easiest to cut into 8 slices with three edges.

Cooking process

The first thing you need to do is get rid of excess starch. To do this, soak the sliced potatoes for at least 5 minutes under running water.

Then the potatoes should be boiled. It is important to put the tubers in already boiling water to preserve the maximum amount of nutrients. It is also important not to let them overcook, therefore, boil the tubers for no longer than 10 minutes.

Before frying, the potatoes must be dried. After that, take a frying pan of such a size that the potatoes cover its bottom in one layer.

Country-style potatoes should be fried over high heat so that each side is properly browned.
