It has become known what request Abkhazia made to Russia.

The country's authorities asked Russia to provide them with electricity free of charge.

The acting Minister of Energy and Transport of the Republic, Dzhansukh Nanba, reported this in a conversation with RIA Novosti journalists.

It is noted that Abkhazia is characterized by a shortage of electricity, since there is an excess of its consumption in the country. In order to save money, the republic often resorts to power outages.

In this regard, the country is forced to import energy resources from the Russian Federation.

As Nanba specified, in October of this year, the Abkhazian government asked the Russian Federation to provide a social electricity transfer. We are talking about 327 million kilowatt-hours, which Abkhazia intends to spend in 2025.

According to a representative of the Abkhazian Ministry of Energy, the country that made the request has fulfilled all technical requirements. However, Abkhazia has not yet received a response to its request.
