FAS opens case against Prosveshchenie over expensive textbooks
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation announced that it had opened a case against the Prosveshcheniye publishing house.
This measure is the second one applied against this legal entity.
The FAS explained: “The company’s activities show signs of excessively high prices for history textbooks,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
Today, Prosveshchenie is a leader in the market for publishing state textbooks.
The activities of the legal entity are based on the publication of history textbooks for grades 10-11.
Initiation of a case
It is emphasized that the FAS previously conducted an analysis of the financial results in the context of Prosveshchenie setting prices for books.
The investigation found that the company was overcharging for textbooks.
At present, a legal entity may face a significant administrative fine. Its amount has not yet been specified.
