Finnish cruise company Vip Cruise has announced the sale of its sea vessels.
It is reported that the reason for this step by the legal entity is the lack of tourists.
Vip Cruise explained in an interview with the Finnish publication Itä-Savo : “Unfortunately, the current realities in the tourism sector and the changing market force us to take such measures.”
The information was made public, in particular, by the company's CEO, Janne Leinonen.
In particular, it is emphasized that by the end of the current summer season, four steamships will be sold.
According to Leinonen, there are already interested buyers in the form of Swedish partners.
Today, the border between Finland and Russia is not functioning due to a unilateral decision by Helsinki.
In April 2024, the country's Prime Minister Petteri Orpo submitted a request to the leadership of the European Union to receive funds for Finnish regions located near the Russian Federation.
As Orpo indicated in his petition, these regions suffered economically, allegedly due to decisions by the Russian side.
Russia, in turn, has repeatedly emphasized that it is not interested in severing communications with neighboring countries, including Finland.
