Fugitive oligarch Berezovsky left debts in Russia amounting to almost 880 million rubles

Boris Berezovsky, who died in Great Britain, left behind large debts in Russia.

He owes almost 880 million rubles in court decisions.

Berezovsky's outstanding debt amounts to 879 million 953 thousand 269 rubles 86 kopecks, TASS writes.

From the documents and data of the enforcement proceedings bank it follows that three writs of execution were issued against Berezovsky in 2011 and 2012.

For each of them, enforcement proceedings were initiated after his death.

According to the database, one of them was on February 20, 2017, and two were on June 19, 2017. However, none of the debts were collected.

The Main Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation investigated several criminal cases in which Berezovsky figured.

In particular, the issue concerned the theft of funds from Aeroflot OJSC, property of AvtoVAZ OJSC and SBS-Agro Bank.

Boris Berezovsky was sentenced in absentia to 13 years in prison, but he died.

Debts can be collected from his heirs, but to do this they must accept the inheritance.
