Sberbank CEO German Gref reported that the Russian economy has passed the peak of overheating.
According to the expert, the inflation peak, however, has not yet been passed.
The expert noted: “It is too early to talk about inflation. Although August is traditionally considered a deflationary month,” as reported by Argumenty i Fakty .
The economist made this information public at the Eastern Economic Forum 2024.
According to Rosstat data, this year, for the first time, a process of weekly deflation was observed.
From August 27 to September 2, deflation was 0.02 percent. It was affected, in particular, by the fall in prices for fruit and vegetable products.
In addition, the reduction in the cost of air travel and trips to so-called holiday homes had a beneficial effect.
Such processes led to the fact that annual inflation also slowed down. Thus, from 9.01 percent it “fell” to 8.87 percent.
