Kaja Kallas doubts the rest of Russia's assets frozen by the West

Josep Borrell's successor has spoken out about Russian assets blocked by Western countries.

The new head of European diplomacy and former Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas doubts that “something will remain” of Russia’s $300 billion.

The official's opinion was revealed by the publication Politico .

Kallas acknowledged that the West is withholding funds to which Russia has legal rights.

She admitted that if the situation were resolved, Moscow would be given back access to frozen assets.

But Callas believes that when that happens, there will be nothing left of these funds.

The diplomat made it clear that the European Union has its own plans for Russian assets.

In 2025, it will be three years since the EU announced the freezing of Russian assets in the context of the Joint War.

Russia emphasized that in response, the EU and US assets were blocked. Moscow can use them to pay for the funds lost in the West.
