The owners of a multi-billion dollar business faced a “blatant and brazen corporate raid.”
The case that Ramzan Kadyrov spoke about involved Russia’s largest outdoor advertising operator, Russ Outdoor.
The head of Chechnya shared details on his Telegram channel. He said that he had spoken with his old friend Vladislav Bakalchuk, the husband of Wildberries founder Tatyana Bakalchuk.
From him, Kadyrov learned that since March 2024, the family has faced serious problems related to business. “Some devils,” as the Chechen leader put it, are trying to take the multi-billion dollar company away from Bakalchuk.
Since the beginning of July, Wildberries assets have been transferred into other hands through legal machinations via the company Russ Outdoor.
Kadyrov called what was happening a “brazen corporate raid” and instructed State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov to sort out the situation and help the owners of large businesses.
At the end of June 2024, the leader of the Russian e-commerce market Wildberries merged with a major player in the advertising market, Russ Outdoor.
Their collaboration was expected to lead to the creation of an advanced digital trading platform that would unite several areas (finance, media, trade, logistics, advertising, etc.).
Businesses were to have at their disposal a unique and accessible tool for effective online trading.
