Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs Yaroslav Nilov announced that the LDPR party proposes doubling the minimum wage.
According to Nilov, the corresponding payment should increase to 30 thousand Russian rubles.
The politician emphasized in his official Telegram channel: “The LDPR proposes to increase the minimum wage as early as January 1, 2025.”
According to the deputy, this issue is relevant for “millions of Russians.”
In addition, Nilov pointed out: “A low minimum wage leads to an unjustified differentiation of the population’s income.”
Also, according to the deputy, such an indicator negatively affects the introduction of new technologies in the workplace.
According to the politician, the country's GDP is significantly slowing down, and labor productivity, in turn, is falling.
Nilov also shared his conviction that the low minimum wage forces Russians to borrow money and live on credit.
