Strawberry prices in Moscow have seriously “fallen” in a week
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Rusprodsoyuz Association Dmitry Leonov reported that the price of strawberries in Moscow has decreased by 8 percent in a week.
According to Leonov, today this delicacy can be purchased at a price of 237.5 rubles per 1 kilogram.
The expert noted: “Moreover, strawberries have risen in price by 20.4 percent in a month,” as reported by TASS .
In addition, the deputy chairman of the Russian Food Union indicated that domestic production is responsible for 80 percent of the market for this berry.
At the same time, 20 percent is directly generated by imports.
Cost of strawberries
As Leonov emphasized, the main supplier of strawberries is Türkiye.
In second place are Azerbaijan, Serbia, Moldova, China and Egypt, which have held the lead in recent years.
In May of this year, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut allowed for an adjustment in the price of strawberries in June 2024.
Lut revealed this information in a conversation with reporters.
