The US has expressed an unusual opinion related to sanctions policy.

Washington has acknowledged that sanctions policy harms almost a third of all countries in the world.

The Washington Post writes about this in its new article.

The publication notes that US government circles are concerned about the effectiveness of the sanctions imposed on Russia, as well as how they affect the rest of the world.

In addition, the publication recalled what the introduction of restrictions led to. The sanctions gave rise to a "shadow fleet" to circumvent the oil price ceiling, and also contributed to the rapprochement between Moscow and Beijing.

The US imposes three times more sanctions than all other countries in the world. At the same time, the excessive nature of the restrictions is recognized in the US at the highest level.

However, the US does not intend to stop there and plans to continue imposing sanctions.

The authors of the publication came to the conclusion that the sanctions policy mechanism was introduced gradually by the last four White House administrations.

The beginning was made under George W. Bush, after whom sanctions were continued by Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
