A greenhouse is an excellent way to grow heat-loving plants in the climatic conditions of the middle zone.

However, it is often so hot in the summer that the plants in the greenhouse can overheat.

Together with the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , we figure out what methods there are for shading a greenhouse, when it is necessary.

Methods of shading a greenhouse

One of the easiest ways is to plant a hedge around the perimeter of the greenhouse.

Plants will create natural shade and at the same time will become a decoration of your greenhouse. However, it is not recommended to plant tall trees so as not to take away all the sunlight.

Low shrubs are best, and should be planted at a distance from the building so as not to interfere with ventilation.

The second method is to apply water-soluble paint or lime.

The third method is to install a reflective curtain. Agrofibres, polypropylene nets or reflective films are suitable for this purpose.
