Goutweed can release substances that negatively affect the growth of other plants and lead to its slowdown.
In addition, weeds can attract various insects.
How to control weeds
You can get rid of weeds using herbicides. But such products can accumulate in the soil.
However, other methods can be used to combat couch grass.
So, you can plant dahlias near the beds. Thanks to this, weeds will not actively climb onto the site.
The beds can also be mulched with a thick layer.
You can also use different barriers, for example, pieces of slate.
