There are several recommendations that can be applied during periods of sharp drops in average daily air temperatures.
Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh gave advice that will help during this period.
First of all, you need to pay attention to the seedlings, if they have already been planted in the greenhouse.
Not always can cold weather kill seedlings. But it can definitely slow down their growth.
If there is no heating, you will have to use folk tricks. For example, you can bring several hot bricks inside the greenhouse or put large containers with hot water.
Additionally, it is worth inspecting the greenhouse for possible cracks and other defects that let in cold.
For the garden, you can use special smoke bombs. They should be used primarily at night, when the lowest air temperatures are recorded.
Another method of protecting the garden is called sprinkling. But it should also be continuous. It is especially important that the water is sprayed very finely.
