How to Water an Orchid Properly to Keep Roots Healthy
Most orchids die from overwatering.
Tropical plants are capricious about water temperature and temperature changes.
Before watering, check the soil for moisture. Do not let the soil dry out completely, but do not over-water it.
The soil in the pot should be moist but not wet. This will help keep the roots healthy.
Let the plant dry out before watering it again. This does not mean the surface of the pot should be dry. It means the center of the pot should be dry.
The orchid can be pulled out of the pot upside down to check how damp the material in the pot is.
This procedure can be carried out several times to understand when to water the plant.
It is best to choose one of the days of the week when to water the orchid. On this day, give the orchid a glass of water.
After 20 minutes, drain off excess water and do not leave the plant in water.
After flowering, when all the flowers have faded, continue to care for the orchid and it will eventually bloom again.
