If it is still the height of summer and it is too early for the onion to turn yellow and wither, then the first thing to do is to make sure that the vegetable is getting enough moisture. And you should also water the plant with clean water, which should not be cold.
Onions also love nitrogen, and if there is not enough of this microelement, they may also start to turn yellow. In this case, it is worth fertilizing it with a mixture of 10 liters of water, in which you need to dissolve 1 tablespoon of urea and 1 glass of mullein.
The third reason is damage by pests or fungus. In this case, the plants should be treated after you have established the exact cause of yellowing and wilting.
If you see bulb or stem nematode at the roots and on the stems, then use a tobacco solution. To prepare it, pour 200 grams of tobacco with 3 liters of hot water, leave for 3 days, dilute with 10 liters of water and add 1 spoon of pepper and grated soap.
