April is considered a month of sharp temperature changes and “times of doubt” in the gardener’s calendar.

But there are crops that can be sown as early as the end of April.

Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about the so-called April "walruses".

If the threat of night frosts has passed, and the soil at a depth of 5-7 cm has warmed up to at least five degrees, then you can take the first steps towards getting an early harvest.

Cold-resistant crops

Bean seeds germinate at a temperature of 3-4 degrees. Seedlings can withstand a short-term decrease to a slight minus.

These crops require a well-lit area and neutral soil.

Another option is radish. It can be sown from about mid-April.

Also included in this category are turnips, radishes, celery, parsley, dill, parsnips, and black onions.

Previously we talked about how to speed up the ripening of watermelons in a greenhouse.
