When to sow vegetables for seedlings: a note for summer residents

When to plant seedlings
There are universal recommendations for the timing of sowing agricultural crops, but there are also a number of universal requirements that will help you choose the most optimal time.
These requirements include:
- the length of the growing season of the vegetable you are going to grow;
- the age of the seedlings when it is time to plant them in the ground;
- heat-loving culture;
- conditions for subsequent cultivation of the plant, that is, whether you will plant it in open ground or in a greenhouse;
- seed germination period;
- the climatic conditions in which the plant will grow.
Thus, it is important to take into account that there is no need to rush. For example, in the case of tomatoes, the period for planting them in the ground will be the first ten days of June, if we are talking about Moscow and the Moscow region.
And since the optimal age for seedlings is considered to be 40-50 days, seedlings should be started growing no later than May 1.
