A man died in a foreign country after one simple request from customs officials.
The incident occurred at Yerevan airport, where a Brazilian citizen arrived.
Armenian customs officers stopped a Brazilian at Zvartnots airport, the Hraparak publication writes, citing law enforcement officials.
The reason was a bottle with an unknown liquid that a guest brought from a distant country. The man told the customs officers that there was wine in the bottle.
But, as it later turned out, the Brazilian was trying to smuggle drugs into Armenia in this way.
However, the customs officers did not confiscate the bottle, but ordered the foreigner to drink its contents. The Brazilian did so and after a while he suddenly became ill.
The foreigner was hospitalized, where he later died.
The Armenian investigative bodies have opened a criminal case on the fact of murder. Expert examinations are currently being conducted, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.
