Germany is concerned about the decision that was made in Hungary regarding Russian and Belarusian citizens.

The head of the Ministry of the Interior of the state of Brandenburg called for the introduction of border controls at the EU state borders.

This was reported by the TASS agency, citing information that appeared in German media.

The outrage in Germany was caused by a decision taken in Budapest. Hungary decided that citizens of Russia and Belarus have the right to be included in the simplified program for obtaining long-term Schengen visas.

It is noted that Michael Stübgen became the first European politician to advocate the introduction of restrictions against Hungary.

In his opinion, if a country allows Russians into the EU without checking, it thereby endangers all other states that are part of the entity.

Therefore, as the head of the Brandenburg Interior Ministry insists, this issue must be clarified during the next EU summit, and appropriate consequences must follow.
