Germany issues arrest warrants in Nord Stream bombing case

On the eve of the second anniversary of the gas pipeline explosions, German authorities made a statement.

The comment was shared by the official representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers, Steffen Hebestreit.

During a briefing, he told journalists that Berlin had issued several arrest warrants, RIA Novosti reports.

The official did not disclose details, but noted that this is a normal procedure for a constitutional state.

After the arrest of the defendants, a trial will take place and a verdict will be issued, Hebestreit emphasized.

A representative of the German government recalled that the investigation of the terrorist attacks is under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Nord Stream was destroyed on September 26, 2022. The official version is a sabotage attack.

The gas pipeline operator was unable to provide an exact time frame for the restoration of the facility, which is located in the Baltic Sea.
