Hungary has obtained permission from the US to settle gas payments with Gazprombank
The United States has made an exception for Hungary in terms of sanctions on settlements with the Russian Gazprombank.
This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
According to Reuters, the United States has provided Hungary with the opportunity to conduct settlements with Gazprombank, which has fallen under American sanctions, Reuters reports.
Siyaro said an exception was made for gas payments related to Gazprombank.
At the same time, Hungary, together with its regional allies, has developed an alternative payment method.
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, the method does not violate sanctions, allowing payments to be made for gas.
Szijjártó did not disclose details of what it entails.
Hungary was one of the first countries to ask the US to make an exception to sanctions for gas payments.
