Minsk Comments on Situation with German Citizen Sentenced to Death
Germany is trying to save its citizen, who was sentenced to death by a Belarusian court.
The situation was commented on by the press secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anatoly Glaz.
He confirmed that the German citizen was convicted of mercenarism. The court sentenced him to death, RIA Novosti reports.
German diplomats have contacted Minsk. Options for the development of the situation are being discussed.
The Republic took into account the position of the German Foreign Ministry and proposed its own options for resolving the issue.
Belarusian-German consultations on this situation are being conducted through the ministries of foreign affairs. Minsk does not interfere with the consulate's work with the convicted person.
