Missing tourist in US suddenly found alive a month later in Mexico
Hannah Kobayashi from Hawaii went missing in the United States for more than a month and was suddenly found in Mexico.
The search for the young 30-year-old woman began after her family reported her missing last month.
Kobayashi said in the letter that she returned to the United States from Mexico on Sunday, according to an NBC News article.
She said she had not known what was happening for a month while she was away.
Kobayashi arrived at Los Angeles airport on November 8 but missed her connecting flight to New York, family members said.
A few days later, she stopped communicating with her family. After the family reported Hannah missing, the Los Angeles police took over the case.
Kobayashi planned to go to New York to visit museums and galleries.
However, police found out that the woman crossed the border into Mexico with an unknown man at the San Ysidro crosswalk in San Diego.
Kobayashi's family said last week that she had been found safe. They did not say where or when she was found.
Kobayashi said she returned to the United States at dawn, but did not want to go into details about her disappearance.
