Mistaken for a raccoon: naked young man lived in pensioner's basement for six months

An elderly woman lived for about six months without knowing that there was a person living under her floor.
The incident was reported by the NBC portal. According to the eyewitness, she attributed all the strange sounds coming from the basement to raccoons.
The woman's relatives suspected something was wrong when one evening the sounds became louder than usual.
The noise sounded like human knocking, so Ricardo Silva, the woman's son-in-law, decided to call the police.
Law enforcement officers who arrived in response to the call found a 27-year-old man named Issac Betancourt hiding under the floor of the house.
The man did not react to the police's demand to leave. Neither the police dogs nor the twice sprayed gas drove him away.
Only after using tear gas were law enforcement officers able to “smoke out” Issak from someone else’s basement.
Despite the fact that the basement was only about 60 centimeters high, an illegal tenant could remain there for about six months.
