The Swiss authorities have commented on the possibility of banning the messenger in the country.
A spokeswoman for Switzerland's Federal Office for Cyber Security dismissed the possibility.
Manuela Sonderegger told RIA Novosti journalists about this.
She noted that there are no discussions in her country about banning the popular messenger.
According to the agency's representative, in Switzerland no one prohibits companies and individuals from choosing the most suitable applications for their purposes.
At the same time, the analysis of all existing risks that accompany the use of various messengers falls on the shoulders of the users themselves.
However, Sonderegger did not rule out that if information is received about potential danger and possible threats from Telegram, the Swiss population will be warned about this in advance.
Let us recall that these questions arise in connection with the arrest of the founder of the messenger Pavel Durov in France. The businessman may face up to 10 years in prison, but official charges have not yet been brought against him.
