The western state was shaken hard this morning, raising the threat of a tsunami.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7–7.3 occurred in California on Thursday, December 5, at 10:44 (21:44 Moscow time).
This was reported by the press service of the US Geological Survey. The information was also confirmed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded in the Pacific Ocean, 99 km from the Californian city of Ferndale. The epicenter was located at a depth of 10-14 km.
Residents of California and the neighboring state of Oregon have been warned of a tsunami threat.
Several months earlier, fishermen discovered the herring king off the coast of California.
This deep-sea 'doomsday' fish finds itself on the ocean's surface before a powerful earthquake.
The herring king "predicted" the earthquake and tsunami that led to the destruction of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in 2011.
