Water near military base in Germany poisoned for third time in a week
Foreign media outlets have reported that water near a military facility in Germany has been poisoned for the third time in a week.
It is emphasized that unknown persons made a hole in the fence of the water tower.
It is this section of the structure that supplies water to the Bundeswehr base in the city of Mechernich, as reported by TASS .
Authorized specialists called on local residents not to drink the water or use it for any other purposes.
Chemical poisoning
Experts explained that the water in Mechernich is nevertheless suitable for showering.
The local government added: "Access to the water tower in the city is unauthorised. The situation could be critical."
It is indicated that the hole was found by military personnel. Today, they have strengthened control over water supply facilities.
Law enforcement officers are monitoring the situation in connection with this incident.
