Japanese bar chain Yotteba has stopped offering a "slap" service to drunk customers after complaints of injury.
The injury complaint put an end to the provision of the disputed service.
The Yotteba chain of establishments with affordable beer and chicken wings offered customers the service of receiving a slap in the face from a waitress.
The service was originally conceived as an after-dinner gimmick for inebriated patrons. For a fee, they would be slapped in the face to sober them up before going home.
She later became popular in certain circles, but a client's complaint about an injury was the last straw.
Project M's management confirmed that the slapping had stopped for two months, but declined to provide further details.
