Criminal cases opened in Primorye due to collapse of two bridges in one day
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Primorsky Krai has released information that criminal cases have been opened in the region regarding the collapse of two bridges.
Police say the bridges collapsed in one day.
Investigators explained: “There is evidence of abuse of power by employees of the Ministry of Transport of Primorsky Krai,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
It is noted that the said individuals were observed to be inactive, which resulted in this incident.
Collapse of bridges
It is emphasized that heavy rainfall was observed in the region on August 20.
As the leadership of the Chuguevsky District explained, as a result of this circumstance, the automobile bridge running across the Sokolovka River partially collapsed.
Later that same day, it became known that a second bridge collapsed near the village of Nevskoye “under pressure from heavy-duty vehicles.”
At present, investigative bodies are establishing all the circumstances of these incidents.
