Deputy Kartapolov responded to the report about his car being mined
On the day of the death of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, State Duma deputy Andrei Kartapolov received a frightening message from an unknown person.
The Colonel General, former commander of the Western Military District and now chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, was warned that his car was allegedly mined.
Kartapolov gave a comment to the press. He confirmed that he received this message, RIA Novosti reports.
The deputy received an anonymous call. After that, he contacted law enforcement agencies.
Bomb disposal experts were dispatched to the scene and examined the car, which was parked in the underground parking lot of a residential building on Ruzheyny Lane. The experts did not find any explosives.
Kartapolov himself said that he was fine. He suggested that the attackers were trying to intimidate him. The general emphasized that they had failed.
The bomb threat was reported on the day when the car of 54-year-old Lieutenant General and Chief of the Russian Armed Forces' NBC Protection Troops Igor Kirillov was blown up.
A high-ranking officer died at the scene.
