The flight from Moscow to Sharm el-Sheikh has been postponed for a long period.

Passengers were supposed to fly to the Egyptian resort early in the morning of December 20, but the plane of the Al Masria Universal airline is still at Sheremetyevo Airport.

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported that flight UJ614 will depart on Saturday, December 21, at 18:50, RIA Novosti reports.

Thus, the delay will be about 37 hours.

The reason for the delay was said to be a technical malfunction of the aircraft.

A reserve aircraft will be allocated. It will deliver tourists to the popular Egyptian resort.

While the issue with the plane was being resolved, the tourists were offered food and independent accommodation with compensation for expenses.

The nature of the plane's breakdown is not specified, but a delay of more than a day indicates serious problems.

Flight UJ614 was scheduled to depart from Sheremetyevo on Friday at 5:50.

But the start of the holiday for hundreds of tourists was disrupted due to a breakdown.

What tour operators will do has not yet been reported.

Meanwhile, Sharm el-Sheikh has already begun to receive tourists who decided to celebrate the New Year at a warm resort. Many Russians booked tours in the summer and fall.
