In Ufa, 16 children aged 4 to 16 were kept in a rented apartment.
Two Tajik citizens beat them for a long time.
The children were released on the night of July 12, 2018 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs operatives, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan reports .
One of the teenagers managed to escape from the apartment and went to the nearest store for help.
During a special operation, operatives freed the children.
The suspects, two Tajiks, were detained. A criminal case was opened against them, accusing them of torture and deprivation of liberty.
The children were taken to specialized social institutions. Specialists are looking after their health.
Law enforcement officers have begun searching for the children's parents and clarifying all the circumstances of the incident.
