An explosion in the engine room and a possible terrorist attack are named as the main versions of the Ursa Major ship crash.

State Duma deputy and former naval officer Andrei Kolesnik believes that the speed at which the ship went underwater looks suspicious.

In his opinion, strange coincidences may indicate a possible terrorist attack, according to an article in the publication Vzglyad.

Also, the depth, distance from the shore and location of the explosion indicate such prerequisites.

The MP also noted that the cargo ship's engine room lacked watertight bulkheads.

Kolesnik also does not rule out that the explosion of the main power plant led to the ship's crash.

However, he stresses that in this case the ship should not have sunk so quickly.

Final conclusions will most likely be made after examining the dry cargo ship during the study.
