A Chinese man has been sentenced to death after committing a crime.
A man drove into a crowd of schoolchildren and was sentenced to death for it.
A resident of the city of Changde named Huang Wen appeared before the court, CCTV reports.
On November 19 this year, he drove into a crowd of people at the entrance to an elementary school.
As a result of the incident, 18 children and 12 adults were injured.
For this, the Chinese man was sentenced to capital punishment, but with a two-year reprieve.
In addition, the convicted man was deprived of his political rights.
This punishment followed due to the nature of the crime.
It was proven that the collision was committed intentionally.
Offenders who commit crimes that endanger public safety are punished to the utmost in China.
After the deliberate hit-and-run, the Chinese man got out of the car and wanted to use a weapon, but was arrested.
Huang Wen heard the verdict just over a month after the incident.
His case was publicly heard by the Changde Intermediate People's Court on Monday, December 23.
As the investigation established, the man was thus “trying to throw out emotions” that arose against the backdrop of financial problems.
The attacker also complained about conflicts in the family.
All this brought him to a state in which he decided to commit a crime for which they now intend to execute him.
