The property of Satyukov, who fled from the investigation abroad, has been seized, RIA Novosti reports.
Assets worth billions of rubles have been seized in relation to the former head of the “K” department of the Bureau of Special Technical Measures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Georgy Satyukov.
Satyukov, according to the investigation, received a large bribe.
Five billion rubles in Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrencies were transferred to the suspect from the administrator of the crypto exchange for patronage.
Satyukov and his accomplice laundered part of the money by converting it into fiat money.
The Investigative Committee is currently determining the location of Satyukov and his accomplice for extradition.
