Ship in Kerch Strait sends out distress signal

It has become known that another vessel in the Kerch Strait has sent out a distress signal.

This happened near the port of Kavkaz.

Details were provided by representatives of the Russian Professional Union of Seafarers, TASS reports.

The corresponding signal came from a ship called Gam Express.

There are 16 sailors on board. We are talking about 1 Syrian and 15 Egyptians.

It is specified that this time the reason is not related to weather conditions.

The crew sent out a distress signal due to a lack of food and drinking water.

It is also reported that the sailors have been left without wages. The employer last made payments in August.

The crew of the Gam Express has sent out a distress signal and is hoping to enter a Russian port.

The Russian side does not object to this.

There are a Syrian and Egyptians on board, but the ship itself is sailing under the flag of Guinea-Bissau.
