Tanker Volgoneft sends distress signal near Kavkaz port

The third tanker in the Black Sea has sent out a distress signal, this time near the port of Kavkaz.

Emergency services confirmed that a distress signal was transmitted from the tanker.

It is known from the details that the tightness of the hull of the tanker that requested assistance was not compromised, RIA Novosti reports.

It is preliminary reported that there is no leak of oil products into the sea.

There were no reports of any injured crew members.

The Marine Rescue Service confirmed that the tanker's hull was not leaking.

The tanker Volgoneft, which requested assistance in the area of the port of Kavkaz, became the third tanker in the Black Sea in the last few days to send a distress signal.

Earlier on Sunday, the tankers Volgoneft 212 and Volgoneft 239 sank in the Kerch Strait.

The rescue operation took place in two stages. The evacuation of people from the grounded tankers continued on Sunday and Monday morning. One of the sailors died.
