Underground gambling uncovered in Yakutia
The activities of a criminal group were stopped in Yakutia.
During the raid, law enforcement officers discovered that several people had organized an underground gambling business.
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reported this on its official website .
A criminal case has been opened against those detained under the article on illegal organization of gambling.
Three organizers of the illegal business were taken into custody, and three others were sentenced to house arrest.
Circumstances of the case
As the investigation established, the criminal group was active between February 2023 and October 2024.
During a raid organized by law enforcement officers on October 9, a violation was discovered.
The criminal activity was carried out outside the gambling zone, using all the attributes inherent in the gambling business: slot machines, playing cards and chips.
During the search, law enforcement officers seized approximately 500 thousand rubles, as well as items made of precious metals, proving the illegal nature of the activities organized by the criminals.
