Have you ever noticed that after cleaning, your floors still look dull, despite the amount of money spent?
It turns out that everything you need for the perfect shine is already in your kitchen.
We are talking about the most common table vinegar, which is not only cheaper than store-bought chemicals, but also safer for health, children and pets. The secret is in its acidity, which dissolves dirt, grease and soap stains without leaving sticky marks.
To prepare the solution, mix 100 ml of vinegar with 5 liters of warm water. If the smell seems strong, add a few drops of lemon or orange essential oil.
Wipe the floors as usual, then go over them with a dry cloth – the surface will shine as if after a professional cleaning. Vinegar also disinfects, destroying bacteria, and is suitable for all types of surfaces: laminate, tiles, linoleum.
The main thing is not to use it on natural wood, as the acid can damage the structure.
If you're out of vinegar, try replacing it with lemon juice. The juice of one lemon diluted in a bucket of water will give a similar effect, and the aroma will be fresh and natural.
For bathroom tiles, add 1 tablespoon of soda to the solution: this will enhance the cleaning properties and help remove limescale.
After washing the floors, wipe the corners and baseboards with a cloth soaked in pure vinegar - this will prevent mold from forming. If the floors are very dirty, vacuum or sweep them first to remove large debris, otherwise it may leave scratches.
For parquet, use black tea instead of vinegar: brew 3 bags in a liter of water, cool and wipe the surface. The tannins in the tea will protect the wood and give it a slight shine.
To remove wine or coffee stains from laminate, apply a paste of baking soda and vinegar to the stain, leave for 10 minutes, then gently scrub with a soft brush.
For floors with anti-static coating, add 1 tablespoon of glycerin to the solution - this will reduce dust formation.
If you have pets in your home, after cleaning, wipe the floors with a solution of vinegar and water (1:3) to repel fleas.
Vinegar is not suitable for marble floors, but you can use a mixture of 1 liter of water and 2 tablespoons of baby shampoo - this will gently clean the surface.
To refresh your carpet, spray it with a weak solution of vinegar (50 ml per liter of water), then vacuum it after an hour.
