A new achievement by Moscow surgeons has been announced, after a patient with a serious injury was admitted.
Doctors were able to reattach five fingers to the victim at once.
Representatives of the capital's health department spoke about the specialists' success on their Telegram channel.
It is noted that the incident in question occurred at work. The victim was a 62-year-old man who lost five fingers at once.
During the complex 14-hour operation, surgeons stitched up all the veins, arteries and finger nerves. First, the injured limb was fixed with pins, after which the finger extensor tendons were stitched up.
At the microsurgical stage, the doctors, who worked with five amputated fingers at once for the first time, also demonstrated coordinated work.
The medical team managed to fully restore blood flow and mobility of the hand. Despite the complexity of the surgical intervention, doctors noted that the reattached fingers took root without complications.
