A Norwegian political scientist explained the essence of the West's new plan directed against Russia.
Political analyst Glenn Diesen has called on Moscow to tread carefully on issues related to the settlement of the conflict in Eastern Europe.
In an interview with journalist Rachel Blevins on YouTube, he noted that the West's talk of a ceasefire did not just start out of nowhere. It all comes down to buying time and rearming the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"For the US, UK and NATO, this was an opportunity <...> to weaken Russia," Diesen said.
Moscow should act cautiously in this situation, the political scientist claims. The West's new plan may work under certain conditions, the expert believes.
He noted that Russia really wants to achieve stabilization of the situation and the creation of sustainable peace in the region. Diesen called Moscow's approach constructive.
