The foreign publication Independent reported that in Great Britain a general's rank was taken away for kissing a girl on the lips.
It is reported that the official committed the relevant action while intoxicated.
The Independent writes: “This refers, in particular, to British Major General James Roddice.”
The soldier did not deny his guilt in the act. He admitted that he had been drinking with members of the foreign delegation, of which he was the leader.
Subsequently, as Roddis himself said, he and his companions moved to a karaoke bar.
There, the now disgraced official allowed himself to touch the girl’s hair and then kiss her.
The incident became publicly known thanks to eyewitness footage. It is stated that the incident "buried" Roddis' thirty-year career.
The Independent notes that the British general has many awards. In particular, he was awarded the Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
In addition, it is reported that Roddice was one of the generals who carried the coffin of Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II.
