"Dangerous Delusion": Lavrov Criticizes US Government Statement on Conflict with Russia
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the delusions of the American authorities.
Washington believes that a possible new global war will not affect the United States.
Sergey Lavrov arrived in New York, where he will chair open debates of the UN Security Council on July 16 and 17.
As RIA Novosti reports, during a meeting of the UN Security Council, the Russian Foreign Minister criticized the words previously spoken by John Kirby.
The White House official representative noted that an open conflict between Washington and Moscow does not bring any benefit to the former and the US does not seek it.
At the same time, the Capitol representative, for some unknown reason, noted that such an escalation is dangerous primarily for the European part of the continent.
According to Lavrov, the US is confident that a possible conflict will not affect them and only Europe will suffer.
The Europeans must realize what a suicidal role they are destined to play, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added in conclusion.
