The State Duma assessed the possibility of provocations against the Russian Federation
State Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev said that provocations against Russia are possible before the end of US President Joe Biden's term.
He stressed that tensions between Western countries and Russia could increase.
Tolmachev drew attention to the publication of the British newspaper The Times about hypothetical explosive DHL parcels, RIA Novosti emphasized in its publication.
The article, according to Tolmachev, appeared several days before the DHL cargo plane crash in Vilnius.
He explained that this could be an attempt to create a negative background around Russia.
The deputy also stressed that the Russian Federation does not use similar methods described in the publication.
He added that Russia will defend itself against such gestures using the proven Oreshnik, Gvozdika and Pion systems.
Tolmachev stressed that Russia is ready to confront any challenges, defending its interests.
