Britain, Italy and Japan show off next-generation fighter jet

Three countries have unveiled a concept model of a sixth-generation fighter jet.

The presentation took place as part of the international air show, which is taking place in Farnborough, UK, from July 22 to 26.

Engineers from Great Britain, Italy and Japan will contribute to the creation of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) project, writes the Breaking Defense portal and publishes a photo of the concept model of the newest fighter.

The first sixth-generation aircraft is planned to be built by 2035. In 2025, engineers will move on to the design and development stage.

The project's authors claim that the aircraft will have an intelligent weapons system and an interactive cockpit with software control.

It is separately indicated that the fighter will have a powerful new generation radar, which is capable of analyzing 10 thousand times more information than any existing systems.

The aircraft is being developed with maximum compatibility with US and NATO military equipment in mind.
